Meet Sanah Kotadia | Texas Life Coach

Hi, I'm Sanah. I'm a professional life coach and licensed professional counselor. I help people across the state of Texas (and beyond!) identify, work toward, and accomplish their goals. Whether you need support in your career, relationship, or another area of your life, I'm here to help.

I've always been passionate about working with people. My first career was in the education system as a career and school counselor. I also worked in the hospital system before opening my own private therapy practice. Since then, I've expanded to create my own coaching practice as well, allowing me to help even more people.

While I draw on my professional (and personal) experiences in my work as a life coach, I ultimately see us as partners in this process. You know yourself best, and I'm simply here to help you connect with yourself in a deeper way. It's a vulnerable experience, but it's totally worth it—and you don't have to do it alone.

My approach to life coaching

I recognize that each person has their own unique background, goals, and needs. That's why I take time to get to know my clients and build strong coaching relationships. Once I can understand who you truly are, we can work together to customize the life coaching process to your specific situation.

Since I'm also a licensed professional counselor, I incorporate therapeutic techniques into my life coaching sessions. I have training in modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy.

While I believe in the importance of using evidence-backed methods, I don't like to get too technical or clinical with my language. Ultimately, we're two people working together. It's important to me to show up as my authentic self in session, creating a warm and compassionate environment to help you feel comfortable being yourself.

Life coaching services I offer

  • If you want to feel better but don't have specific goals in a particular area of your life, individual coaching may be the right fit for you. Having a personal coaching presence can support your overall mental health and personal development.

Here are some signs you could benefit from personal coaching:

    • Having a general sense of fulfillment

    • Struggling with low self-esteem

    • Experiencing life transitions

    • Feeling a lack of direction or purpose in life

    • Wanting to grow as a person

  • Whether you're struggling to find a career path that you feel passionate about or want to feel more confident in your workplace, career coaching can give you the specialized support you need to thrive in your work life.

Here are some signs you could benefit from career coaching:

    • Trouble saying no to too many projects or responsibilities

    • Difficulty setting work-life boundaries

    • Feeling like you're always falling short of your goals

    • Having a hard time delegating

    • Holding yourself back from doing what you want because you're worried about what other people will think

  • Much of my work as a therapist involves helping people break down their ingrained relationship patterns and find new ways to connect with people. Coaching services can help with this, too. Not in a romantic relationship? Working with a relationship coach can also help you improve your friendships, family relationships, and connecting with yourself.

Here are some signs you could benefit from working with a relationship coach:

    • Going out of your way to please others, often at the expense of your own needs

    • Feeling responsible for other people's needs and emotions

    • Struggles with communication

    • Having a hard time being yourself for fear of being judged or rejected

    • Feeling resentful about always giving in a relationship and not receiving as much as you'd like

  • I have a particular specialty in helping individuals and couples navigate the challenges that come with being in an interfaith relationship. With both personal and professional experience in this area, I can offer valuable insight and support to help you both feel understood and respected.

Here are some signs you could benefit from working with an interfaith relationship coach:

    • Struggling with different opinions on how to raise children

    • Experiencing pressure and expectations from your families

    • Difficulty navigating different values

    • Feeling a lack of support from your religious communities

    • Challenges in deciding which traditions, practices, and holidays to uphold

  • Faith, religion, and spirituality can all be an important part of a person's identity. At the same time, it can be challenging to know how to nurture these sides of yourself. Faith-based coaching can give you a space to safely explore your needs and values.

Here are some signs you could benefit from working with a faith-based coach:

    • Feeling disconnected from your spiritual side

    • Struggling to find your purpose or fulfillment

    • Desire to feel connected to something greater than yourself

    • Experiencing inner conflict of different values, desires, and truths

    • Going through a life change or experience that causes you to question your faith

  • Many of my counseling clients are adult women with undiagnosed ADHD. As a life coach, I can help you learn strategies that support your executive functioning in your day-to-day life.

Here are some signs you could benefit from working with an executive function coach:

    • Having trouble finishing what you start

    • Difficulty with time management

    • Jumping from task to task

    • Challenges focusing or focusing too much on one particular thing

    • Trouble with working memory

FAQs about working with a life coach

  • A certified professional coach can have a different role depending on their scope of practice. For example, professional recovery coaches help people heal from addiction. In my role as a life coach, I help people navigate challenges in work, relationships, and their personal lives related to the specialties I named above.

  • As both a life coach and a therapist, I know it can be hard to determine which professional is the best fit for you. If you're struggling with mental health issues, I recommend working with a licensed therapist. While people can become a certified life coach through the International Coach Federation, the training isn't as rigorous or regulated as the necessary training for becoming a therapist. c

Life coaching may be a better fit if you have specific goals in different areas of your life or want to focus on personal or professional development. Life coaches are able to be more flexible than therapists, so they may use more creative methods.

  • Yes! Life coach cost can vary, but it's ultimately worth it. Having a formal coaching agreement can give you the support and accountability you need to make tangible progress toward your goals. You'll leave our work together feeling accomplished and empowered. Plus, you'll be able to use the skills you learned even after our work is complete.

Take the first steps toward becoming your best self.

Whether you want to develop leadership skills to help you thrive at work, want to find more harmony and connection in your relationships, or learn strategies to help you feel more on top of your daily life, I'm here to help. Together, you'll find deeper insight, well-being, and fulfillment.
