Frequently asked questions.

Insurance & Fees

How much does therapy cost?

Our standard rate for clients without health insurance is $175 per individual session and $190 per couple’s counseling session. You may still be covered under your insurance policy, as most insurance companies do offer reimbursements via out-of-network benefits.

Do clients need to be residents of specific states to receive services?

Currently, for therapy sessions, we are only accepting clients from Texas. However, if you are looking for coaching sessions, you do not need to be residing in Texas.

Do you accept health insurance?

We are not accepting health insurance currently.

What questions should I ask my insurance company?

Mental health benefits are specific to your individual plan. We suggest calling the number on the back of your card and asking the following questions:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • How much does my insurance pay for an Out-of-network (OON) provider?

    • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it?

    • Have I met my deductible? If not, how much is left before it is met?

    • Do I have a co-pay?

    • Do I have a secondary insurance plan for Mental/Behavioral Health?

How do I provide payment?

Payment is due at time of service and a credit card is required to be kept on file at all times. We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AmericanExpress.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason a session is canceled less than 24 hours prior, the full fee will be charged. If you’d like to cancel your appointment, please e-mail us at info@balancedmindstherapy.com or call us at 281-500-8661

Is there anything I need to do before my first session?

Please fill out all of the forms from the link provided via e-mail before the first session. Since some of those forms include consent forms, we won’t be able to officially start the first session until everything is signed, completed, and submitted.

I feel quite nervous about going to therapy. Is that okay?

Of course! Reaching out to begin therapy can be intimidating. Many people feel nervous right before sessions and that is totally okay. In fact, this is a great topic to bring up to your therapist so they can help you feel comfortable during sessions. Take a deep breath-you are on the right track!
